Story of COVID

Story of COVID

Since the first wave of a COVID hit during the preparation of my brother’s wedding. Everyone was worried about the wedding, shopping, wedding cards, and not least guests. As a Pakistani you want more and more people to come to your wedding because you want your relatives to get angry. So we all were worried still questions were still there that are guests coming or not. Nothing was confirmed.

The day came when the date was fixed, and cards were ready and then we heard the most terrifying thing LOCKDOWN. It was not a lockdown it was a breakdown, a breakdown of our dreams. A mother who has one son and sisters who have one brother could not be able to understand what was going on. It was like COVID has ruined everything.

Everything was ready no guests were coming except some family relatives. we changed our mood and get ready for the wedding but guess what, nature is not happy at all. On the of nikah, the big lockdown was announced. Finally, nikah was done (wedding done) but everything was so rushed, some guests who came were running terribly to go to their homes. No girls would ever have cried at their brother’s wedding but we did because nothing happened as we expected. All our dreams were shattered in just a few minutes. We did not dance, not sang properly not had fun not even had some wedding rituals. as Charles dickens said, “IT WAS BEST OF TIMES, IT WAS WORST OF TIMES“. It was like we will always be where we are right now, and we are not able to go anywhere else, we will always be confines in the same place or we will die soon, we will be no more.
