The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junior Girls and Boys Squash Championship was organized at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex in Peshawar. The tournament was organized by the KP Squash Association and Pakistan Squash Federation in a bid to celebrate the new year. A total of 60 players, including boys and girls, participated in the tournament in three different categories: U-15 girls, U-11 and U-13 boys.
Sana Bahadur defeats top seeded maira hussain
Among the Girls Under-15, Sana Bahadur defeated her strong opponent, Maira Hussain in the final of the tournament. The score of a thrilling encounter was 12-10, 9-11, 12-10, 8-11, and 11-9, as Sana won the match by 3-2. This final lasted for around 49 minutes and it was an excellent exhibition of athleticism and sportsmanship. It also showcased the talent and potential of young Squash players in the country who can hopefully serve the country.
Being deaf and mute, Sana Bahadur is a true depiction of grit, composure, skill, and hard work. She is an inspiration to the people, and has taught them that there are no limitations for a determined and passionate person. Sana also has five Gold Medals to her name in national level Squash tournaments, including U-23 and Quaid-e-Azam Games. She dreams of representing her country at an international level in the near future. Sana has stood tall and confident to every hardship thrown at her by the life, and it is a privilege to have such inspiring individuals in this country.

During the finale of the Tournament, President of KP Squash Association Qamar Zaman, Secretary Munawar Zaman, Member Executive Committee Sher Bahadur, Sajjad Khan, Wazir Gul were also present. Col. Obaid Bahadur attended the finale as the Chief Guest. Renowned coaches Tahir Iqbal, Alamzeb, Niamat Ullah were present along with other match officials.
President KP Squash Association Qamar Zaman, who is also a former World Champion, appreciated the efforts of young players, and wished them best of luck for their future endeavors. During the closing ceremony, Col. Obaid Bahadur distributed trophies and cash prizes to the top contenders of the tournament.
