Punjab Police Inaugurated Internship For The Students

According to ARY News, Mr. Inam Ghani, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Punjab Police has announced a four-week internship program for Pakistani youth. This internship is for college and university students to raise public awareness and offer hands-on experience with police work.

Internship Inauguration in Punjab Police:

Like other fields, Punjab Police also proposed a four-week internship program for the students who wish to acquire police skills and practices and receive training from the police. Inam Ghani, IGP, Punjab, shared these sentiments with students and police officials at the inauguration event of the internship program at Central Police Office, Punjab, held on Monday. He mentioned that the interns have the opportunity to share meaningful thoughts and suggestions for future improvements in public service delivery and policy based on their observations.

DIG Training, Dr. Suleiman Sultan Rana, Addl: IG Training Kanwar Shahrukh, Addl: IG Logistics Shahid Hanif, Addl: IG Establishment Ali Amir Malik, and other officers were also present.

Image Building of Punjab Police:

The main goal is to create a positive shift in the image of the police force. Therefore, they could return to society as police ambassadors after completing their internships. 

Areas for Practical Experience:

In the wake of practical exposure, the interns will do practical experience in the following branches including:

  • Legal
  • Operations
  • Information Technology
  • Public Relations

While gradually increasing the number of internships, students can be allocated to other offices as well.

First Batch of Internship:

During the ceremony, DIG Training Dr. Suleiman Sultan Rana notified IGP that the internship starts from the Central Police Office. In the first batch, 09 students of LUMS – Lahore University of Management Sciences would complete the internship. He added that the first batch would include students studying law, economics, and social sciences.

Students engaging in the event praised the efforts for furnishing them the internship opportunity and confirmed a positive learning mindset.
