Pakistani Father-Daughter Duo Ride Against the Tides

Pakistani Father-Daughter Duo

Ghazal Farooqi, a passionate “biker girl” from Pakistan, is challenging stereotypes and inspiring others by pursuing her passion. In 2020, she embarked on an unconventional biking journey with her father, Qazi Farooqi, inspired by a couple from the Netherlands who visited her family. Her first road trip was from Karachi to Khunjrab and back, and she has since explored some of the most amazing terrains of Pakistan, including Fairy Meadows, Skardu, Hunza, Kalam, Kumrat, and Kalash.

Riding a bike on uneven roads while carrying a heavy amount of luggage is no easy feat. But Ghazal believes that if you have a genuine passion for something and act upon it sincerely, you can always reach your desired destination. She also credits her loving father, Qazi Farooqi, for his unwavering support and encouragement. He has accompanied her on all her road trips, helping her to overcome any challenges along the way.

In 2023, Ghazal and Qazi Farooqi flew to Nepal and did a road trip exploring different cities in Nepal. This journey was particularly challenging, as it involved navigating treacherous mountain roads and dealing with extreme weather conditions. But the father-daughter duo persevered, and their accomplishment is a testament to their courage and determination.

Ghazal has become a role model for young girls in Pakistan, inspiring them to pursue their passions and break free from societal expectations. She has also shown the world that Pakistani women are capable of anything they set their minds to. Qazi, for his part, has been recognized as a supportive father and ally for women’s empowerment. He has shown that men can play a vital role in promoting gender equality and creating a more inclusive society.

The father-daughter duo has been featured in several media outlets. Their story is a powerful reminder that anything is possible if we have the courage to follow our dreams.
