The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa has taken yet another innovative initiative and has decided to build Pakistan’s first-ever motorsports arena in Keshgi, Nowshera. This step has been taken to cater to the ever-increasing fan base of the local motorsports in Pakistan. With the absence of any local platform to experience and learn their passion for sport, individuals were not able to carry out any practice.
The construction of this new arena focuses to provide an opportunity for the sports enthusiasts to carry out their training and practice motorsports in a standardized facility.
KPK’s Sports and Tourism Department has created & shared the detailed and meticulous plan for this mega project with the province’s Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan. The plan shared shows that the arena will feature a Drag race-track, Off-road track circuits, Asphalt track circuits, Practice tracks for on-road and Off-road driving, and a Go-kart track. The model also intends to feature a pavilion tower that has a seating capacity of around 3,000 people.
Along with all this, the model also holds the plan of offering other facilities as well including petrol stations, washrooms, service stations, garages, and parking. The arena will also lay its focus on the entertainment of the customers, with its inclusion of food courts and shopping malls for hosting different types of leisure activities.
According to the reports, the arena will cover the area of 1175 canals with an estimated cost of Rs. 100 million. This motorsports arena will be the first Government-funded car racing track. There are already two private racing tracks but they are insufficient to cater to the growing enthusiasm for motorsports among Pakistan’s youth.
According to KPK’s Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan, this arena will pave the way for the promotion of sports in the country, especially in the province. The CM has appreciated the initiative and has instructed the relevant department to prepare an action plan to take the things forward.
This project will be a very good addition to the recreational facilities already operating in the country, especially for youth. Along with entertainment, this will also provide the racers to enhance their skills, and would also be an attraction for International racing events.
This is to be noted here that last month, KPK Government had also announced the construction of a National Cricket Stadium in Kalam Valley, Swat.
