Over the years, compassion was never falling any short, when it came to lend a helping hand to the creases of underprivileged people of slum areas. Globally known and incorporated in the names of philanthropic, Edhi Foundation has always been admired in serving humanity in Pakistan and even across the world.   

Mother of Pakistan, Bilquis Bano Edhi hailed the title of ‘Woman of Decade’. Rendering her services for 6 decades engrossed the eyes, when she brought another title to her homeland.

The Impact Hallmarks, an international web-based organization honored the top three influential including Bilquis Bano Edhi, “who have stretched and segmented top of the decade’s impact hallmarks and the opinion polls top ‘triarchy’ as well”.   

However self-sacrificing and unpretentious, Bilquis Bano Edhi has been a mother of many children which is nothing short of a miracle, who undecided on their journeys to life has had the warmth and care in her arms. Nursing the orphans to the point of their adoption has a number of stories to be discovered as she was always stood by the virtue and took indigent under her selfless shelter.  The Jhoolas (cradles),one of the gestures towards the abandoned babies is just as teary eyed issue in Pakistan that can set hearts to melt, had the most welcoming hug from the ‘Mother of Pakistan’.       

Bilquis Bano Edhi was born on 14th of August 1947 and is a professional nurse heading the Bilquis Edhi Foundation. She served her life in providing safe-heavens to the destitute. She got married to Abdul Sattar Edhi (Late) at the age of 17 and often reflects back to her life with husband, who never spent a day not serving the crying humans in pain.

The remarkable services of Bilquis Edhi had the most significant impact and presented her with the munificent awards like Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Pakistan), the Lenin Peace Prize, Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice (2015) and the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Services that she received along with her husband.    

Bilquis Bano Edhi; is one genuinely modest epitome of humane in disguise whose motherly sensation has many unseen deeds to the court of Creator Almighty Allah, is such an angelic shade over countless miserable.
