Humanism

Humanism

Humanism means an attitude that emphasizes the dignity and worth of all human beings. Humanists believe that the needs, values, and desires of human beings be given more importance while keeping away the concept of religious belief. Humanism rejects all kinds of religious bonds.

“My religion is humanitarianism which is the basis of every religion in the world… No religion is higher than Humanism”.

ABDUL SATTAR EDHI

Many people remain in our hearts even after their death for their altruistic work. Such people are highly generous, they leave amenities, luxuries, and comforts of life just for the benefit of other people. Their generosity and kindness are found in their passion. They gift the savor and amenities of life to those who have nothing to eat or drink, and to those who are overburdened with problems and difficulties of life. Humanists commiserate and feel for the underprivileged and try to make their life easy and comely. They give cosset to lonely orphans who are helpless and diffident.

Kindness is the best form of humanity.

A humanist works for the welfare of mankind. Goodness is also a key concept of humanism. Anyone can get true happiness and self-satisfaction when he serves human beings. Therefore, we have to serve human beings selflessly and irrespective of their beliefs and affiliations, as Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) was not only a prophet for Muslims but also for all human beings. Allah Almighty also says in the Holy Quran “…and cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.” (Surah Al-Maeda, Ayat 2)

Humanism is against all types of hardheartedness and strictness towards human beings. It doesn’t aim to make man powerful but a simple man who works for the betterment of human beings. Humanism respects all human beings and aims to understand mankind with love and cooperation. May Allah bestow his immense blessing to those who live and work for Humanity.
