Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is now offering free education for students of merged Tribal Districts, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan. The decision meant that from the Spring Semester of 2021, these students will be able to continue their studies in matric free of any cost. The recent pleasant development is a part of AIOU’s initiative of nation building by providing free matriculation education to students. It will pave the way for more educational opportunities for students hailing from less developed areas.
Official representatives of AIOU announced that the new semester of the university began from 15th of January. The applicants will be entertained till the 20th of February, 2021. Students from Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan, and merged districts of KP can avail this opportunity.

The Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Dr. Zia ul Qayyum instructed regional directors to raise awareness about the program in these areas. He also urged the students to utilize this chance of getting quality education for a better and more sustainable future. Dr. Zia ul Qayyum also added that AIOU has always ensured to facilitate its students in academics.
The AIOU Director of Admissions Mian Muhammad Riaz said that the admissions for different offered programmes have started for the Spring Semester. Also, the admission forms are available at 53 regional offices of the Allama Iqbal Open University. To increase accessibility, forms are also available at university’s main office, and prospectus sale points all across Pakistan. The prospectus sale points will be operational for all seven days, including the weekends to facilitate the students. The information about the prospectus and these sale points is available online at AIOU’s official website. Furthermore, computerized admission forms have already been sent to the continuing students of the university.
AIOU has earned a respectable name in the educational field by providing various scholarship opportunities to students on diverse basis. As a result, thousands of students from all over the country are able to meet their education expenses.
