A Minute Too Long

A Minute Too Long

As he sits in his seat,
Waiting to see his family It was a long wait
The countless nights he stood awake;
The isolation killing him
The countless laughter he felt barren;
No one to laugh them with
But the time had finally come
He had boarded the plane and now was ready to land
He had missed everyone so much
He looked afar from the window
The city closing in 10 minutes from now,
He will finally be with his mother
His mother will shower him with her prayers
His father will pat him on the back and hug him tight
It was all going to be wonderful again
Then he heard a sound
Before he could process anything
He was falling
Everything changed within seconds
There was screaming and crying
Children calling for their mothers The parents helpless
Calling for Allah
LA ILLAHA ILLAL LAH
Everything was ending
He knew this was the end
His mother’s smile came flashing in front of him ‘Oh Allah. Give my parents strength!’
How?
How was this happening?
Am I dying?
Is this the end?
ALLAH HU AKBER
Oh, Allah save me!
INA LIL LA HI WA INNA ILAIHI RA JIOUN
To him, I will return!
Allah!
YA ALLAH!
I am sorry
Forgive me I return to you, the one who created me
